District Receives More Funding for Marine Stormwater

The Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA) notified the Watershed District yesterday of its eligibity for grant funding to implement more storm water improvements in Marine on St. Croix.  The MPCA had approved a CMSCWD application earlier this year for projects around Goose Lake in Scandia. to be funded through their Environmental Protection Agency 319 grant program.  Additional money in the current EPA budget allowed the MPCA to offer limited funding, $80,000 to the next grantee on their prioritized list of applications, the Carnelian-Marine-St. Croix Watershed District.  The grant must be matched by a minimum of 40% in local and state funds.
