Welcome to the Carnelian-Marine-St. Croix Watershed District

Minnesota’s Carnelian-Marine-St. Croix Watershed encompasses 81 square miles, stretching along the St. Croix River from Stillwater Township to north of Scandia. An area known for its natural beauty, clean water and abundant habitat, the watershed is home to 31 lakes, three designated trout streams, hundreds of acres of wetlands and more than 17 miles of St. Croix River shoreline.

Formed in 1981 and expanded in 2007, the Carnelian-Marine-St. Croix Watershed District oversees a variety of projects and programs to assess and improve the health of our watershed.
