Terrapin Lake

Information on Terrapin Lake

100-Yr. Flood Elev    913.7 (District, 10-day snowmelt)

Terrapin Lake is a shallow lake with 100% littoral area having a maximum depth of 15 ft.  Terrapin Lake is located almost entirely within the boundaries of the non-profit Warner Nature Center and Wilder Forest properties.  The lake was added to the District as part of the 2007 District enlargement that included the former Marine Watershed Management Organization (MWMO) and the Orphan Area in Northeastern Scandia.  Water quality monitoring efforts were started in 2004 by the MWMO.  Unlike most watersheds in and around the metro, there is limited potential for development threatening the water quality of the lake due to its location within both the Warner Nature Center and Wilder Forest.
