Last year, Washington County and Carnelian-Marine-St. Croix Watershed District completed a large-scale stormwater retrofit project at Square Lake Park, which will help to keep the lake clean for years to come. Now, we need your help to plant a large raingarden near the beach.
Volunteers will work with staff from the Washington Conservation District to plant the garden.
Materials will be provided but please bring gardening gloves, trowels, and knee pads if you have them.
There is water and a bathroom on site. Please bring a refillable water bottle to stay hydrated.
WCD will provide light snacks (ie. granola bars)
The garden is partially shaded and mosquitoes usually aren't a problem, but feel free to bring sunscreen and bug spray.
A Washington County Parks vehicle permit is required at Square Lake. Please let us know if you need a one-day pass.
