Participants will learn how to integrate science with practical winter maintenance and save money while minimizing impacts on the environment.
Upon completion of training, you will earn a Smart Salting certification that lasts five-years.

Friends & Volunteers Bonfire
Whether you’re interested in planting prairies, teaching nature programs for local students, or planning watershed art events, there are numerous ways to volunteer in our watershed.
Join us on Tuesday, Nov. 4 (6-8pm) for a cozy bonfire and night hike outside the Nordic Center at Lake Elmo Park Reserve (1515 Keats Ave N).
This event is an opportunity to make friends, meet some of our local Water Steward volunteers, and learn about training and volunteer opportunities in 2026. And yes! There will be s’mores, hot cocoa, and hot apple cider!

Cut and Learn Volunteer Event at Burris Park
Are you concerned about the impact Buckthorn and non-native bush honeysuckles have on our natural habitats? Do you like being outdoors and participating in hands-on activities? If you answered “yes” to both of these questions, the Carnelian-Marine-St. Croix Watershed District and Washington Conservation District invite you to participate in a Cut and Learn Event at Burris Park.

The CMSCWD Board of Managers will be meeting on the 5th floor at 14949 62nd St N, Stillwater, MN 55082 with County Commissioner Miron, Commissioner Cox and Washington County staff to discuss the Preliminary 2026 CMSCWD Budget.
Attendees should first report to the Office of Administration inside the Government Center.
